Overview
The client is a public listed comprehensive and fully integrated construction and development company providing a full range of design, construction and development services, including design and build, project management, civil engineering, value engineering, geotechnical specialisation and manufacturing in Industrialised Building System (IBS) precast concrete products.
The client has successfully completed more than 15,000 units of properties.
Challenge
At the start of the project, the client was managing multiple projects using Excel spreadsheets and independent financial and ERP systems.
This resulted in limited visibility across projects and difficulty tracking material quantities and wastage, sub-packaging BQ for estimation and contracting, and integrating schedule and cost controls for material planning and consumption.
The client wanted a more accurate way to monitor and track projects, reduce wastage, manage payments and costs more efficiently, and establish a single point of truth across its projects.
Solution
A tailored cloud solution was implemented using Oracle Primavera Unifier integrated with Oracle Primavera P6 EPPM and Oracle BI Publisher.
The solution established a unified approach to integrated project schedule and cost controls, including:
- Streamlining Pre-Contract estimation and bidding processes to sub-package BQ
- Establishing a common Project Cost Breakdown Structure
- Incorporating Owner and Sub-Contract Contract Management processes, including LOA, IPC/COP, VO and Final Accounts
- Generating early warning alerts relating to material/project controls
Result
The client achieved significant digital transformation of its project management practices.
Key achievements included:
The transformation positioned the client to take on more projects across the region.
- Standardised Project Control Practices
- A streamlined project delivery approach using a single platform for Schedule, Cost and Contract Management
- A digitalised Project Repository with ISO alignment
- Localised Contract Management Practices
- Real-time Project Cost Sheets with scheduled reporting distribution
